Helen Devitt Architects is a small, bespoke conservation practice, established in Cork City in 2011 and now based in Co. Clare. The practice offers a personal architectural design and consultancy service, where clients deal directly with principal, Helen Devitt from the inception of the project. The practice specialises in works to vernacular buildings, protected structures and buildings of historical significance. Particular attention is given to the adaptation and sensitive extension of these historic buildings to develop a sympathetic response within their context in the surrounding Irish landscape. Helen draws on over 20 years experience, having worked in Manhattan, NYC, Glasgow, Dublin and Cork City, in a range of architectural practices and scale of projects. Other services include appraisals of historic buildings and sites, advice on improving the energy efficiency of traditional vernacular buildings, and the design of new domestic dwellings. Helen Devitt is an RIAI Grade 1 Conservation Architect.
